Psychedelicatessen, the local treasure that is Troy NY's most colorful eatery, has suffered a critical injury that threatens to deprive its loyal bagel lovers of the authentic NYC style bagels!Many gluten-loving locavores have come to depend on their favorite bagel shop for freshly made breakfast , diet-crushing snacks, and general sense of wellbeing and community.
The "Little-Bagel-Shop-That-Could", that's gotten through so much already, just can't anymore. P-Deli's oven basically kicked the bucket (broke), was rescucitated by emergency surgery (repair), and is currently in serious condition (barely working) awaiting further treatment. Bagel production is dangerously low and difficult, and the situation is touch-and-go at best. In order for the shop to make a full recovery, immediate intervention is necessary. Quite simply, in order to get that oven back up to maximum bagel making capacity, they need money that they don't currently have in such short and emergency notice. This setback has dealt a hard blow to not only the bagel production, but just as significantly to the amazing crew who works so hard to make it happen.
Psychedelicatessen is one hippie chick's vision of better food and a better community. A place where people come together independent of class, identity, or beliefs (other than that of eating well while supporting local economy, ethical business, and the love of music)! A place where the bagelslingin' crew is about more than just friendly faces and fun food, it's about love and family. It is a place to eat real, be real, hang out, and meet others doing the same.
