Keep the Bagels Rolling!

Psychedelicatessen, the local treasure that is Troy NY's most colorful eatery, has suffered a critical injury that threatens to deprive its loyal bagel lovers of the authentic NYC style bagels! Many gluten-loving locavores have come to depend on their favorite bagel shop for freshly made breakfast , diet-crushing snacks, and general sense of wellbeing and community.

The "Little-Bagel-Shop-That-Could", that's gotten through so much already, just can't anymore. P-Deli's oven basically kicked the bucket (broke), was rescucitated by emergency surgery (repair), and is currently in serious condition (barely working) awaiting further treatment.  Bagel production is dangerously low and difficult, and the situation is touch-and-go at best.  In order for the shop to make a full recovery, immediate intervention is necessary. Quite simply, in order to get that oven back up to maximum bagel making capacity, they need money that they don't currently have in such short and emergency notice.  This setback has dealt a hard blow to not only the bagel production, but just as significantly to the amazing crew who works so hard to make it happen.

Psychedelicatessen is one hippie chick's vision of better food and a better community. A place where people come together independent of class, identity, or beliefs (other than that of eating well while supporting local economy, ethical business, and the love of music)! A place where the bagelslingin' crew is about more than just friendly faces and fun food, it's about love and family. It is a place to eat real, be real, hang out, and meet others doing the same.

If you believe in Laura's vision and dedication to local and fresh food, love having access to authentic NY bagels and lox , or just can't bear the thought of losing such a wonderfully eclectic part of the community, please contribute to this fund. Thanks so much!

Baking is a 'go' right now! First set of repairs are done, second round still waiting for parts.
We can still bake, just have to keep it lower key until the second repair is done.
Love to all who've supported and shared! (Holy cow, I'm blown away by the support!! <3 )
Today's lunch bagels!

I have come to the Capital District during some difficult times and I have always been treated warmly and felt at home at Psychedelicatessen. Also the bagels are some of the best I've ever had.

I think the talk about Bi-polar maybe a reason someone is having difficulties at work, those problems are hard to work with, as far as the go fund me for an oven and the wording of the statement was clearly a line of misappropriation of money, a shop owner did not have enough capital to stay open, what's it gonna be next poor Mrs. Flower, or hit hard Sanitation mechanic, to me the people were scammed, more nneded people out not Machines

Love the bagels, coffee, atmosphere and the fact that they support local businesses by using local organic ingredients. That being said I think it's irresponsible in the least for a business owner to ask their customers to pay for an expense. That's a part of being a business owner is planning for unexpected expenses if you can't afford it you can do what everyother hardworking business owner in America does get a business loan

I am sure that person wasn't fired for Having bipolar disorder but for some form of misconduct! You can't turn a shoulder to misconduct just because you have a mental disorder- adults who actually have bipolar disorder are capable of functioning amongst society with proper means of help... pscychologists , meds etc...
