Yesterday DEFRA confirmed that the cruel and pointless slaughter of our precious badgers is set to continue for yet another year. Needless to say, Dorset Sabs will be active around the clock protecting persecuted wildlife from the pointless barbarism of the cull.
It's not just the obscenity of the formal cull. 'Badger-baiters' are active throughout the year. Often associated as 'terrier-men' with wealthy fox hunts, these criminals make the most of the protection that comes from their connection to the aristocrats, judges and landowners that dominate fox hunting. Operating under the political and legal cover of hunts, they are prolific wildlife criminals.
We've got our work cut out for us, and we need your help to monitor the dozens of setts that need protection.
We need a minimum of five Crenova RD1000 infrared, waterproof trailcams. This technology is a game changer for us, enabling us to identify active setts and to collect vital intelligence on the criminals attempting to harm badgers. Each camera costs £75.00
With your help we can extend our protection over a greater area of the cull zone, saving more badgers from death and abuse.
