On June 29th, 2017, Nik got in a bit of an accident. And by a bit of an accident, I mean nearly got crushed by a car while skateboarding and received a traumatic brain injury consisting of a fractured skull, prefrontal bleeding, and a clot. No biggie.
Nik was in the ICU at UF Health Jacksonville for six days, finally being released on July 4th (a true 4th of July miracle). We left the hospital with less than $150 to our name. We were already struggling to stay in our apartment, while also trying to save money to move into our new apartment in August. Now, Nik will be unable to work for at least seven weeks, and since they need to be under 24/7 care for this time, I cannot work either.
We are left with $100,000 worth of expenses and $0 worth of income. We are desperate. If there is anything any one can give, we would greatly appreciate it. Please and thank you.
P.S. Dr. Skylar Astrid can only do so much for Nik! Her stethoscope is plastic, after all!
