What is BackPack Pay Back? BackPack Pay Back is a program that supplies students abroad with school supplies so that there education experience can be similar to the one we get here in the states.

What problem does backpack payback solve?
In East Africa, there are a lot of kids who have parents that cannot afford to buy them backpacks and the supplies they need for school.  “BackPack PayBack” will supply those backpacks and supplies.

What did I do with the funds I received in 2017? Through the non-profit organization, “Backpack Payback,” which I (Aisha Ndayishimiye) created myself, I was able to see through the collection and distribution of over 300 backpacks to students in East Africa.   BackPack Pay Back works with the families in need first hand and seeks to fulfill the needs of the students. To the average person, these supplies may not seem like a costly expense, but when it's the choice between feeding your family or purchasing a pencil, the choice is obvious.  BackPack Pay Back understands that need and works to provide the supplies needed for students for free.

What will the funds be used for? The funds BackPack Pay Back recives will be used to pay for backpacks, shoes (slides , sandals) Chromebooks , prizes for the students and any fundraising events.

Who created BackPack Pay Back: Aisha Ndayishimiye , 15 year old sophomore at STEAM Academy in Lexington Kentucky created Back Pack Pay Back in January of 2017.

What I achieved: Last year I raised 1,500 dollars provided 300 students with backpacks , 34 students with shoes (slides, shoes) one student with a dress and gave the school 4 jump ropes 1 soccer ball and pump and 3 tennis balls, I also received the youth in Philanthropy.

What I want to achieve: My goal moving forward is to make 10,000 dollars provide backpacks for all the students and provide the school with 2-4 chrome books and provide 50 students with shoes (slides, sandals ) I also would like to take another trip in 2019 and  to make BackPack PayBack an official nonprofit. My over all goal is to rebuild the school (Muyange ll) and build a community playground or mini park.
