"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34

Hoping to show lots of love to the McKittrick family as they continue to venture through the challenges of a CDH diagnosis for Baby McKittrick #3.   At a 16 week ultrasound, it was discovered that Baby M had a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH).  This means that his diaphragm did not fully develop, allowing the contents of his abdomen to move up into his chest cavity.  The extra organs that are now in his chest have hindered his lungs from growing properly, leaving him with only 20% predicted lung volume, as well as pushing  his heart over to the right side of his chest, putting stress on it.

Through many small (but very important) miracles, Michelle and Jake were led to the phenomenal CDH program led by Dr. Kays in St. Petersburg, FL.  When other hospitals gave Baby M only a 50% of survival, Dr. Kays program gives him a 95%!!   Armed with faith, hope, and prayer, the McKittrick family paused their life in Kansas and relocated to the Ronald McDonald house in Florida last month and are awaiting the arrival of their sweet baby boy.

While Michelle and Jake are only requesting prayers for Baby M and their family, we are hoping to help give them some financial peace of mind as well. The road ahead will be challenging and uncertain. Baby M will require surgery just days, possibly hours, after birth and there will be a lengthy hospital stay to allow his lungs to strengthen and grow.  As the medical bills continue to grow, so will living expenses in Florida as well as the cost of maintaining their home in Kansas (all while being away from their jobs and having no income).

Our goal is to help relieve the financial burden of their situation so that they can focus their energy on each other and bringing Baby M home!  Anything you can contribute will be such a blessing to this wonderful family.  Our plea is very simple, please pray without ceasing and give where you can for “with God, ALL things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
