Baby Luna and the Gause Family

Donation protected
On Friday, November 9, 2018, little Luna Gause made her entrance into the world. Her original due date was December 1st, but after a few hours of no movement, her wonderful parents, Marissa and Jessie, made the decision to go to the hospital. Once there, the doctors told them that Luna was in danger and needed to come out immediately. After an emergency c-section, Luna arrived not breathing and extremely pale. They managed to resuscitate her and place her on a ventilator to help her with breathing. She was then transferred to a hospital in Orlando, an hour from the current hospital and where they lived, for better care.

Marissa was unable to leave the hospital until Sunday, November 11th. She left as early as possible and finally met her daughter that day. Jessie had been traveling between the hospitals during the days between, spending time with both his wife and new daughter.

Currently, Marissa is healing well and Luna is stable, but under cooling treatment for her first 72 hours of life to minimize brain damage. Luna was diagnosed with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE). Right now, not much is known about Luna’s condition, but doctors are hopeful and positive for the future; however, Luna will have a long road of recovery ahead of her, and Marissa and Jessie will have many new challenges ahead of them.

This amazing family is so strong and have asked for nothing but prayers during this time. Throughout Marissa’s pregnancy, she had several medical issues that led her to stay at home with their older daughter, Lynix, for the health of Luna and herself. This made Jessie the sole provider for their family during this time, and he is now taking unpaid time off from work to be there for his wife and newborn daughter. They will be traveling over 120 miles each day to Orlando to see their daughter and meet with doctors as they move forward during this journey. God will provide during our time of need, and I believe that He will provide for them during this time.

This GoFundMe was setup to help the Gause family with travel expenses, any excess medical expenses, and for other living expenses they may need. Any prayers and help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you all!
