Baby Luke Kidwell

John Luke Kidwell was born into our world at 2:37 am, Friday, June 1st, 2018.  Perfect weight at 8 lbs and 20 inches long!  However, Luke was taken to the university hospital in Morgantown, WV for testing late Friday night due to sudden loss of breath, turning blue, and oxygen levels dropping.  After monitoring him, they did multiple tests to try and find the cause for his cyanosis and stopped breathing. One last test they were going to try was an EEG of his brain activity during his episodes.  The neurologist had been watching his EEG all night and declared his brain was seizing, which was the cause of his episodes. They started dosing him with seizure medication and he hasn’t had any more episodes! He is slightly comatose because of the medication, but over time, his body will adjust. Now, the Doctors really want to see if they can find the cause of his seizing. However, we already see God’s goodness and gentle care!!
Jake had to head back to work, but Barbie is going to try and stay with Luke.

I've been a friend of Barbie's for the past few years.  So many of us have prayed for her and Jake- before they ever met and married!  How excited we've all been for their sweet John Luke to arrive!  Most of us live too far to hug them, and hold their hand during this time, but I believe this is a way to tangibly show our support.  A way to let them know they're not alone- that they have an army praying- an army that will stand alongside them.   I personally cannot give much, but I know together, we can make a way to encourage these two.  To comfort their minds.  The extra expenses add up quickly.   Even if it's just enough to fill a gas tank- or for a meal while they travel, I believe we can be a blessing to this young couple.  I'm so thankful these two know God.  They know He is always, only, a good God- even in very hard days.  A God of big miracles!!!  Please pray for a miracle in baby Luke's healing, and for His grace to embrace this family tightly.  Thank you dear friends ❤️
