Baby Lincoln Needs Your Help

Donation protected
During a rare winter snow storm and after four hard days of labor, Justin and Abby welcomed a new addition to the family on January 8th, 2017 when Lincoln Jasper Tanner was born.  His brother Cash (age 4) and sister Chloe (age 2) were excited to have a new partner in crime.  Little Lincoln gave Abby a wonderful pregnancy and his birth was an uneventful and much desired vaginal birth following two c-sections.

Within of a few days of coming home from the hospital, Baby Lincoln started having some twitches and abnormal movements.  They initially chalked it up to regular newborn jitters, but they became concerned as the twitches became more frequent and pronounced.  They began to document Lincoln's tremors.  On a visit with their pediatrician, a referral to a neurologist was made as a precaution.  Lincoln went an entire week without any episodes, so they cancelled the referral.  Justin and Abby thought he must have outgrown the newborn jitters, and all was well.  Only it wasn't.

On February 7th, while Justin was away on a business trip, Lincoln's episodes suddenly became more intense, more frequent, and he began losing oxygen.  Abby and Lincoln rushed to the ER and were quickly admitted for an EEG.  Over the next few days (and after a good MRI), they were identified as seizures and he was put on a standard epilepsy medication.  After being seizure-free for 48 hours and sending off bloodwork for tests, Lincoln was discharged on February 10th.  On Monday, February 13th (just 30 minutes after taking his morning medication) Lincoln started seizing again.  He was re-admitted to Greenville Memorial Hospital and has been undergoing testing, imaging, EEGs, and medication trials.  He recently began an intensive ketogenic diet.

On a daily basis, Justin and Abby are commuting 35 miles back and forth between the hospital and home. It has been difficult to juggle taking care of the older kids at home while comforting Lincoln at his bedside. Neurologists are still working to find the right combination of medications, vitamins, and diet to control his seizures and are awaiting lab results as to the cause.

Expenses ranging from hospital bills, food, time away from work, and child care are mounting.  Currently, there is no time frame for how long Linclon will be in the hospital.

Friends and family have been amazing in providing food, sending care packages, taking care of their house, watching the older kids, and even fixing their car.  Most importantly, they have been absolutely blanketed in prayer.  Through this trial, Justin and Abby have been such a strong example to us all through their faith in Christ.

Please join me in supporting Lincoln and the Tanner family with a donation.  And please continue to actively pray for healing.
