Baby Grace's Journey to Recovery

Hello everyone! Emily and I have created this Go Fund Me account to support Nick, Justine, and baby Grace. Grace was born September 9th and has been in the NICU ever since. She was born with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). Babies born with CDH have a hole in the thin sheet of diaphragmatic muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen. The hole allowed her liver, intestines and stomach to enter the chest, which compressed her left lung and prevented it from developing normally. Since birth, Nick and Justine have been at Children's Hospital and have been staying at the Ronald McDonald house. Grace has had her surgery to fix the hernia. Now, they are weaning her off of pain medication and the ventilator. Justine has 3 weeks of maternity leave and Nick currently is on unpaid FMLA. Our hope is to raise enough money to allow Nick to stay in Pittsburgh with Justine and Grace until she can come home. Our goal is to raise $3,000 to cover the cost of October's bills with additional money to help with other expenses.
