We are helping raise money for Clint and Aly Lockhart as they prepare for costs associated with upcoming surgical procedures and hospital stays.  As you know, Emerson has had a challenging start to life. Having been diagnosed with both situs inversus and a congenital heart defect called double outlet right ventrical (DORV), she required an extended hospital stay and a stomach surgery when she was born and recently underwent the first of two major heart surgeries required for her condition.  Emerson is a fighter and is doing well at home. Please support them by praying for them and donating here to help cover medical and personal expenses during this time.

Emerson is working on being fully weaned off of the ventilator! They are going to start going down on her heart medicine, but the biggest challenge so far has been her not wanting to take the bottle. She has had a feeding tube ever since she was born, so her struggle now is she doesn't want anything to do with the bottle. Once she can accomplish that, and she is fully off the ventilator and heart medicine, we will be able to bring our baby girl home. With regular checkups, we will have a few months with her until her first surgery at 4-6 months. Thank you all for your support and your continued prayer!

Well it has been a really intense week. As many of you know because of my amazing husbands updates - Tuesday afternoon i was admitted to the hospital with a large kidney stone that was attacking my right kidney. That, combined with regular contractions sent us strait to labor and delivery. After monitoring me they decided to put a stint in my kidney to help relive some of the pressure because the stone is to big to pass. They used an epidural to sedate me so i was awake for the procedure and could feel that Emerson was awake and safe the whole time (thank God for my supportive and amazing anesthesiologist Dr. Smith). After the stint the relief I felt was very little. The contractions were still causing a lot of pressure against the stint. This combined with Emerson's low activity led us to the decision to go ahead with a c-section. She is doing so well. When she first arrived there was a small amount of fluid in her lungs so she was intubated for a short time but that has been resolved. They have moved her feeding tube from her mouth to her nose and she is tolerating feedings well and having regular diapers. Today they started to try and bottle feed but as of now she is showing little interest (this is normal of heart babies). Right now her pediatric surgeon is very optimistic about her saturation levels. We are currently watching to make sure that her lungs do not get oversaturated and that she can regulate that on her own. If she can then she will not need the first of her three surgeries. I haven't gotten to hold her yet but I will get to help give her her first bath tonight. They are weaning me off of my pain medication and I may be able to be discharged either tomorrow or Tuesday. I just want to say thank you a million times for all of you prayer warriors out there. Know that it is you kid words, comments, and messages that have held me up this week. We are so overwhelmingly blessed.

Aly went to Dallas for her first regular sonogram in a while (they have been doing exclusively echos on Emerson's heart the past few weeks). They checked on the size of her stomach which they were a little worried about back in December but everything there looks good, it was just always empty before when we looked! Emerson is weighing in at 5lbs 4oz so right on schedule there. It still can not be determined if she will need the first of her three surgeries (it would take place between 7-10 days after birth). Meeting with her surgeon on Friday gave Clint and Aly a lot very helpful information but there is still so much that can not be known until we meet little Emerson in person. Thank you all so much for your support! The Lockhart's are overwhelmed by your generosity!
