Baby Cayson's heartbroken family


After a long and difficult pregnancy my sister, Stephanie, delivered Cayson Michael on November 26, 2018. He was delivered a couple of weeks early but was healthy and discharged home. Last Friday, January 4, 2019, Stephanie was awakened by her 10 year old daughter with a report that Cayson’s lips are purple. She started CPR on her baby immediately and called 911. The emergency responders arrived quickly and after several minutes were able to get a pulse. He was then transported to the hospital where Stephanie would be given bad news. Cayson’s brain CT showed significant brain swelling consistent with a prolonged period of no oxygen. He has been on continuous EEG which has shown little brain activity and continues to be on life support. 

Cayson has 4 older sisters and a mother and father who adore him and have from the moment they knew they were finally having a little boy.  Stephanie has been off work since October due to the difficult pregnancy and her maternity leave. She was planning to return to work later this week but will now be faced with making some difficult decisions. We are all still hoping and praying for a miracle and ask that you will too.
