Why I need your help!!!!!!
I need your help because our children deserve a fair shot at an exceptional life. They can get that opportunity with the right help from others like you and I. We are a tutorial resource center located in the heart of Ferguson-Florissant, Missouri. I am a passionate educator with more than 18 years of educational experience. I feel education is the pathway to success for all with the right foundation. But I cannot do it alone, and I need you to help me help the students in the Ferguson/Florissant and Hazelwood School District improve their reading and math skills. That will allow them to get the needed help for those foundational skills.
I have exhausted almost all of my personal funds and savings trying to find ways to educate our kids. Our nonprofit educational facility in the St. Louis area provides tutoring services to low income students whom may be as much as two grade levels below their peers. I have faithfully given my money and time all because I believe in the education of young people. I opened this center specifically to help students in need and i ntend to continue to do just that. We are proud that we have serviced more than 150 students. They have gone back to their home school more confident and with more foundational skills to be successful. But I could use your help! The more money we have the more services we can provide. That allows us to reach more students.
Although, I currently work a fulltime job as a teacher and a part time job as a university instructor, I continue volunteering my services fulltime at The Essential Playzone Tutoring Center. I currently donate more than ¼ of my monthly income towards helping the children in need at our facility. I regret nothing! I cherish every opportunity I have to help others! But the time has come for me to ask for the help of others. Every donation you give is tax exempt because we are a registered 501c3 organization. Our fees may be nominal but every dime we take in goes directly towards the overhead of our operations, as well as our programming. Our entire staff are volunteers. They are passionate like me and believe in young people, too.
We have been able to sustain our organization for the last two years because we are good stewards of every dime we receive. But things are getting quite tight. So, any monies or in-kind donations we receive can help with paper, pencils, books, computers-technology, as well as, incentives to encourage our young people. Any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.
We know that this may be asking for a bit much because like many of us, times are getting hard but giving back, even just a little, can go a long way here at The Zone!
