Help for Gunung Sari!
Uli and Bahar need us NOW!

A week ago, our Lombok was hit by a massive earthquake measuring a devastating 7.0 on the scale. A few days later, another big after shock hit Lombok again, causing more damage. The northern parts of the Island were badly damaged, in some regions, as much as 80% of the buildings were completely destroyed. Thousands of people were left without a home, hundreds killed. We got lucky. The south, where we live, was almost unharmed, and for this reason especially, we feel the need to do our best to help the northern parts of our island!
We are providing supplies towards north Lombok everyday. Trucks full of goods but we feel like as a long term-solution, it would be best to focus our attention and resources on one specific area. A region which we have close ties with is the Gunung Sari Area, just north of Mataram.
Uli and Bahar, two men that were responsible for all the beautiful bamboo work in Batu Bambu both come from villages in this region. We feel like our home in Batu Bambu would not feel the same, and would not be as beautiful as it is, without the Love, Care & Hard Work they put in for us. That is why we feel the strong urge to help them. Their villages were almost completely destroyed. They really need us NOW!

Living in Tents: this is not a solution! Soon the rainy season will start!

Nia is our contact person and stands strong for her village! Everyday she gives us updates of needs in the area.
The beautiful surroundings of Gunung Sari really surprised us, they have amazying rice fields and bamboo forests... which sparked an idea for us.
We would offer trips to their village for every future guest in Batu Bambu with Nia as their tour guide. So you can see for yourself where your donations went, and what it is being used for.
The money will be used to help with basic needs first. That means food&water ect. After that the priority is re-building the local school, which was badly damaged in the earthquake!
We hope the Batu Bambu community and everyone else that is interested will help us support this small but beautiful part of the world!

About 2.5 year ago Uli and Bahar did build our reception roof. Under this roof we started this fundraising campaine!!!
