Running to Help Bring Matthew Home!

Donation protected
Matthew Cooper is an 11 year old boy from Telford who goes to the same school as my son. During the summer holidays last year Matthew became ill suddenly & after being taken to hospital, cancerous tumours were found on his brain & spine. Matthew had major surgery at Birmingham Childrens Hospital last August but unfortunately due to complications with blood pressure he suffered strokes which have left him paralysed & unable to breath for himself or talk. He has been there ever since & will not be allowed home until his house is suitable for his needs. There is already major fund raising going on to bring Matthew home but more is needed. I am a member of Wrekin Road Runners & plan to run Stockport Trail Half Marathon, the Knighton 20 mile race & London marathon & along with a number of other Wrekin Road Runners who would also like to raise money through various races they are doing, including Edinburgh, Manchester & London marathons & even a half marathon in the Faroe Islands!  Paul Spriggs & Darren Owen-Jones are going even further after their respective marathons in April by taking part in the Apocalypse 50 mile race in Church Stretton in May. I think the name of that one speaks for itself! Not to be out done Jon Aston who has completed well over 100 marathons & ultra runs is competing in the Grand Union Canal race on May 28th which runs from Birmingham to London & clocks up a staggering 145 miles! Jon is also running the Liverpool to Leeds Canal race on august 27th which is another unfathomable to us mortals 130 miles!

Let's help bring Matt & his family back where they belong.... home!
