Since July 5th, Parker has been having multiple seizures and has been admitted to the emergency vet office. He has been working with various doctors including a neurologist who have been trying to get his seizures under control with various medications. He may need an MRI and/or fluid spinal tap if they can't get them stopped for a full 24 hours. Anything you could give, even the smallest amount, would help immensely with his ever-growing bills. Thank you so much and he sends you sloppy kisses and hugs!

Update: Parker has been great and no more seizures since he left the vet hospital. Hopefully this cocktail of meds he is on is the right one for him from now on and we won't see any more status seizures ever again! Thanks for the support everyone, it's meant a lot for us. :)

Parker's MRI came back all normal! The neurologist suggests we do the spinal fluid tap to see if the seizures could be related to encephalitis or some other infection going on. This is another rather costly test so we are considering the pros and cons. But Parker has been great on these meds so far. Thanks again for the support!

Quick update: Parker is doing great still. One thing we noticed is his back legs seem incredibly stiff and he won't run, even when he wants to play, which is very abnormal for him. We are hoping his legs are still just sore from the seizure activity and/or he feels wobbly from the meds and it's nothing more serious. Otherwise he's his old self! Thanks again for all your generosity!

Parker is back from his MRI and is sleeping. It all went fine. We probably won't know the results until Monday as the neurologist is off Fri-Sun.

Hi Wendy - That's interesting. I actually thought that so the first time he ever had one we stopped giving him those bones. Not sure if that's what it is since he hadn't had rawhide in many months before this episode but you never know!

Our adopted border collie had seizures for a couple of years. It could just be a coincidence but she never had another one after we stopped giving her rawhide sticks (we always gave her good quality rawhide from the U.S.). I know there's no proof and it might sound silly to associate this with seizures but we're just happy she no longer has them. Best wishes and I hope he continues to improve.
