NECESITO AYUDA
Hola amigos, no sé cómo empezar, si pidiendo ayuda directamente, si describiendo esta etapa apasionante de mi vida o si simplemente dándote las gracias por escucharme.
Como muchos de vosotros me habéis dicho que de qué forma podíais colaborar con este voluntariado en el que me he embarcado, he decidido arrancar una campaña de ayuda. Más abajo os explicaré dónde, cómo y por qué.
Antes que nada, quiero deciros que sé que hoy en día, muchos de nosotros ayudamos en muchos sitios. Que se ven necesidades en todas partes. Que no es necesario recorrer miles de kilómetros, llegar hasta el Perú, para encontrar alguien a quien puedas echar una mano. No, claro que no es necesario, lo sé. Sé también que muchas veces no es el dinero lo que salva a las personas. Que por el mundo hacen falta muchos “Buenos días”, muchos “¿Cómo estás?”, ... En fin, que hay mucha necesidad de Amor y de Ayuda. Y que estas necesidades pueden estar muy lejos de donde vivimos, pero también muy cerquita, a nuestro lado.
Menos mal que por el mundo también hay mucha gente buena y solidaria. Me gusta la idea de que, con poca ayuda, pero de mucha gente, se puedan conseguir grandes cosas. Y esto es lo que yo pretendo. Me gusta la idea de ayudar desde partes tan diferentes del planeta, a este pueblo de Perú al que tanto cariño le he cogido y en el que he estado los últimos cuatro meses. Me gusta que sea un proyecto para ayudar a las mujeres. Que sea un proyecto femenino.
En resumen, será un proyecto de colaboración internacional y femenino. Digo femenino porque, aunque colaboremos hombres y mujeres de todas partes del mundo, este proyecto va dirigido a ayudar al emprendimiento y desarrollo de mujeres peruanas. Mujeres que con su trabajo y esfuerzo ayudarán a sacar adelante las aldeas en las que viven.
Por último, os quiero decir que soy consciente de que el poder estar aquí físicamente, junto a estas mujeres que me están enseñando tantas cosas, me hace ser una afortunada de la vida.
Dicho esto, os voy a explicar lo que pretendo:
LOS COMIENZOS
Cuando terminé mis estudios y antes de empezar a trabajar, decidí ofrecer algunos meses de mi vida a gente que lo pudiera necesitar. Fue entonces cuando se me ofreció la oportunidad de venir al Perú.
Llegué aquí, exactamente a San Vicente de Cañete, el pasado 4 de abril para ayudar cuatro meses con lo que fuese necesario. Me acogieron en la residencia de estudiantes del instituto Condoray, que se dedica a formar a mujeres jóvenes de escasos recursos.
¿QUÉ ES EL PROYECTO warmi PERÚ?
warmi PERÚ es una iniciativa que nace para ayudar a mujeres de escasos recursos de Perú, a hacerse fuertes ante la vida. La palabra warmi significa “mujer” en quechua. Este proyecto pretende enseñar a las mujeres un método de trabajo para poder sacar adelante a sus familias o al menos para poder ayudar en la economía familiar.
De forma muy resumida os diré que estas mujeres van a tejer y confeccionar unos bolsos. Tendrán el sello de El Perú. Su estilo, sus colores, su personalidad y su alma. Esto es así por dos motivos: porque es lo que saben hacer y porque se sienten orgullosas de su país, de sus raíces. Exactamente igual que nosotros del nuestro.
Hemos diseñado un método de trabajo. Ellas lo han aprendido y lo han asumido. Se basa fundamentalmente en que algunas de las mujeres de cada poblado nos reunimos semanalmente para determinar y definir el trabajo de tejido. Se proponen nuevos diseños y también se les enseña cómo organizarse para distribuir los bolsos. Todo este proceso ya está organizado.
Inicialmente invertimos un dinero para el arranque y con él se pudo comprar el material inicial, a parte, del que otras voluntarias donaron el año anterior, en julio del 2017.
El proyecto necesita un segundo empuje y es aquí donde os pido vuestra ayuda. Actualmente se están terminando los hilos iniciales. ¡Nos estamos quedando sin material!!!
Y antes de que se agoten todos los recursos, yo he pensado que la gente, mis amigos y quizás los amigos de mis amigos, si todos ayudamos con 5€, ¡podremos hacer realidad el sueño de estas peruanas!!!
¿CÓMO SURGIÓ EL PROYECTO warmi PERÚ?
En julio de 2017, un grupo de voluntarias españolas donó a las mujeres un conjunto de madejas de hilos para que tejiesen y vendiesen sus bolsos tejidos. Cuando llegué yo en abril de 2018, pregunté porqué todavía no habían empezado. Me contaron que cuando producían o tejían cosas, las acababan comprando ellas, pues no sabían dónde venderlas, y por eso, cómo no sabían por dónde empezar, no se habían puesto manos a la obra. Me dio mucha pena, pues son señoras muy habilidosas, con la posibilidad ante ellas, de hacer un buen uso de sus capacidades para generar unos ingresos que realmente necesitan.
Las mujeres tienen mucho talento, pero necesitan un empuje que les de seguridad para arrancar y empezar a vender lo que han tejido. Así empecé el proyecto warmi, con el objetivo de proporcionarles a estas señoras una infraestructura para que aprendieran a organizarse y poder distribuir sus tejidos.
El proyecto comenzó. Empecé a crear un plan para usar los recursos e manera eficiente y sostenible, que suponga para ellas tener un trabajo, SU trabajo.
¿QUIÉN ESTÁ DETRÁS DE warmi PERÚ?
Las mujeres que están detrás de warmi PERÚ son madres de familia luchadoras, valientes, trabajan en el campo y se ocupan de las labores de la casa. Viven en un entorno rural y humilde, en el que rara vez las mujeres son independientes económicamente. Son líderes en sus comunidades y asumen con responsabilidad el desarrollo de la gente de sus pueblos. En mi opinión son un ejemplo de generosidad viva con su tiempo, pues se preocupan por toda la comunidad donde viven, compartiendo lo que ellas reciben con sus vecinos.
DÓNDE ESTAMOS Y A DÓNDE QUEREMOS LLEGAR
Ahora mismo, hemos creado un plan de trabajo, en el que las señoras tejen y nos reunimos una vez a la semana para organizarnos. Ahora mismo están usando las lanas que fueron donadas en 2017 y hemos planeado la primera venta en Lima en dos semanas. ¡Están emocionadas, será su primer sueldo!!!
Queremos recaudar fondos para:
- Poder invertir en más lanas,
- Acondicionar un local para que sea su espacio de trabajo, que tenga luz y que les permita tejer juntas,
- En este lugar queremos instalar también dos máquinas de coser, que existen, pero no hay dinero para arreglar.
- Con el fin de que este proyecto sea sostenible a largo plazo, queremos formar una asociación. Con ello, las mujeres estarían representadas legalmente y podríamos acceder a tiendas en Lima que distribuyan los tejidos en tiendas turísticas de la ciudad.
El objetivo es que esta micro-empresa sea sostenible. Una vez comiencen a distribuir los productos, con los beneficios, la empresa en sí misma se auto sustentará.
¡¡¡ Solo necesitan arranque porque ellas tienen todas las ganas!!!

I NEED YOUR HELP
Hello everyone, I don´t know how to begin, if I should ask for your help directly, if I should start describing this amazing phase of my life or simply thanking you for taking the time to read this.
Since many of you have asked me how you could engage yourselves in my volunteering experience, I have decided to arrange a crowdfunding campaign to ask for help. In the following lines I will explain where, how and why I decided to start this campaign.
First of all, I want to say that I know that many of us currently help in many ways and places. I know there are needs everywhere. It is not necessary to travel far away and come to Peru to find someone to help. It is clear that that is not necessary. I also know that sometimes it isn´t money, what can save people. There is a huge need for a simple “Good morning” and “How are you?”… There is need for love and help. And these needs can be far away from our homes but also very close to us.
I am glad that there are a lot of caring people. I love the idea that, with little help, but from many, we can achieve big goals. And that´s what I am hoping for. I like the idea of supporting this little village in Peru, that has become my home the last four months, from different parts of the world. And I also like that it is project for the women.
In short, it is a project with international cooperation and feminine at the same time. I say feminine, although both men and women will cooperate, since this project will help with the empowerment and development of Peruvian women.
Finally, I want to say that I am aware I am a privileged human because of being able to spend time with these women that are teaching me so many valuable things for my life. I feel very fortunate.
With this been said, I proceed to explain my campaign:
THE BEGINNING
When I finished my studies and before jumping in the working world, I decided to volunteer offering my time to others for a period of time. I then was proposed the opportunity to come to Peru.
I arrived here, exactly to San Vicente de Cañete, on April 4th to help during four months. The student housing of the Condoray High School, welcomed me an let me stay with them. This high school educates women with scarce resources.
The high school manages a social project aimed to promote the development of the surrounding villages. This initiative works with women from those villages who voluntarily attend classes in diverse topics such as baking, crafts, household management, etc. They then go to their villages and repeat the classes to the women in their communities. They assume this endeavor voluntarily for the purpose of helping other households in their village.
It is with these brave women, who I met when I arrived in Peru, with whom I have had the opportunity to work in an empowerment and development project. It is this project what I want to present to you. It is a project I have dedicated my time, my eagerness and my prayers. It is called warmi PERÚ.
THE warmi PERU PROJECT
warmiPERÚ is an initiative that comes to life to help peruvian women with scarce resources. The word warmi means “woman” in Quechua. This project aims to teach women a working method to carry forward their families or at least to help in the family economy.
Very briefly, these women will weave and distribute small bags. These bags will have the stamp of Peru. Its style, colours, personality and its soul. This is because of two reasons: it is what the can do and because they feel proud of their country. Just like any of us of ours.
We have designed a working method. They have learnt and assumed it. It basically consists of six women from several villages that get together once a week to determine and define the work to be done. We propose new patterns and they learn how to organize themselves as a group in order to distribute the woven bags. This whole process is already organized and established.
We initially invested money to start and we also had materials that had already been donated by volunteers a year before, in July 2017.
The project needs a second push and here is where I ask for your help. We are running out of material!!
And before all resources are consumed, I thought that my friends and the friends of my friends, if we all donate 5€ we can help the dream of these women come true!!!!!!
HOW DID warmi PERÚ COME ABOUT?
In July 2017 a group of spanish volunteers donated skeins of yarn in different colors, for the women to weave and sell woven products. When I arrived, almost a year after in April 2018, I asked why they hadn´t already started to weave. The women explained to me that in the past, when they wove something, they ended up buying it themselves, because they didn’t know where to sell their products. I felt very sad, because they are very talented women with the possibility of earning an extra-income that they really need.
These women are skillful, but they need an impulse and encouragement to have the confidence to start selling what they weave. That is why the warmi PERU project started, with the objective of providing these women with an infrastructure that helps them organize themselves to produce and distribute their weaving.
The project started. I set up a plan to use the resources in an efficient and sustainable way, that allows them to have a job, THEIR job.
WHO IS BEHIND warmi PERÚ?
The women behind warmi PERÚ are tireless mothers, who work the land and take care of the chores. They live in a rural and modest environment, where women are rarely economically independent. They are leaders in their communities and responsibly undertake the development of their villages. In my opinion they are a living example of generosity with their time, since they take care of the whole community where they live at.
WHERE ARE WE AT AND WHAT DO WE WANT TO ACHIEVE
Right now we have created a working plan, where the women weave and we get together once a week to organize ourselves. We are currently using the materials donated in 2017 and we have planned the first sale in two weeks. They are thrilled, it will be their first pay!!!
We want to raise funds to:
- Buy more wool
- Refurbish a working facility with power and light so they can weave together
- In this facility, we want to install two sewing machines, which we have, but there is no money to pay for the repairs
- In order to make this project sustainable in the long term, we want to create an association. That way, the women would be legally represented and could have access to touristic stores in Lima that could distribute their products.
The goal is to create a sustainable micro-company. Once the distribution of the products starts, the company will sustain itself.
They only need an outbreak because they are eager to make it work!!!
I WANT TO DONATE BUT I DON´T KNOW WHERE MY MONEY WILL BE INVESTED ON
To donate you simply have to press the button “Donate Now” in the top right corner. A window will pop up, where you can enter the amount of your donation. The page asks for the same bank details than you need when you buy something online (Number of your card, expiration date and security number or CVV). All donations will go to my bank account in Spain and I will make the transfer to Peru.

- Transport for the women to go to the materials store

Esta labor la hacen de forma voluntaria con el fin de ayudar a mejorar los hogares de sus pueblos. Promueven sus pueblos y por ello aquí las llaman “promotoras”.
Es con estas mujeres valientes, que conocí al llegar a Perú, con las que se me presentó, una gran oportunidad de emprendimiento y desarrollo. Es el proyecto en el que estoy trabajando con ellas el que os quiero presentar. Proyecto al que estoy dedicando mi tiempo, mis ganas y mis oraciones. Se llama warmi PERÚ.

The high school manages a social project aimed to promote the development of the surrounding villages. This initiative works with women from those villages who voluntarily attend classes in diverse topics such as baking, crafts, household management, etc. They then go to their villages and repeat the classes to the women in their communities. They assume this endeavor voluntarily for the purpose of helping other households in their village.
It is with these brave women, who I met when I arrived in Peru, with whom I have had the opportunity to work in an empowerment and development project. It is this project what I want to present to you. It is a project I have dedicated my time, my eagerness and my prayers. It is called warmi PERÚ.
THE warmi PERU PROJECT
warmiPERÚ is an initiative that comes to life to help peruvian women with scarce resources. The word warmi means “woman” in Quechua. This project aims to teach women a working method to carry forward their families or at least to help in the family economy.
Very briefly, these women will weave and distribute small bags. These bags will have the stamp of Peru. Its style, colours, personality and its soul. This is because of two reasons: it is what the can do and because they feel proud of their country. Just like any of us of ours.
We have designed a working method. They have learnt and assumed it. It basically consists of six women from several villages that get together once a week to determine and define the work to be done. We propose new patterns and they learn how to organize themselves as a group in order to distribute the woven bags. This whole process is already organized and established.
We initially invested money to start and we also had materials that had already been donated by volunteers a year before, in July 2017.
The project needs a second push and here is where I ask for your help. We are running out of material!!
And before all resources are consumed, I thought that my friends and the friends of my friends, if we all donate 5€ we can help the dream of these women come true!!!!!!
HOW DID warmi PERÚ COME ABOUT?
In July 2017 a group of spanish volunteers donated skeins of yarn in different colors, for the women to weave and sell woven products. When I arrived, almost a year after in April 2018, I asked why they hadn´t already started to weave. The women explained to me that in the past, when they wove something, they ended up buying it themselves, because they didn’t know where to sell their products. I felt very sad, because they are very talented women with the possibility of earning an extra-income that they really need.
These women are skillful, but they need an impulse and encouragement to have the confidence to start selling what they weave. That is why the warmi PERU project started, with the objective of providing these women with an infrastructure that helps them organize themselves to produce and distribute their weaving.
The project started. I set up a plan to use the resources in an efficient and sustainable way, that allows them to have a job, THEIR job.
WHO IS BEHIND warmi PERÚ?
The women behind warmi PERÚ are tireless mothers, who work the land and take care of the chores. They live in a rural and modest environment, where women are rarely economically independent. They are leaders in their communities and responsibly undertake the development of their villages. In my opinion they are a living example of generosity with their time, since they take care of the whole community where they live at.
WHERE ARE WE AT AND WHAT DO WE WANT TO ACHIEVE
Right now we have created a working plan, where the women weave and we get together once a week to organize ourselves. We are currently using the materials donated in 2017 and we have planned the first sale in two weeks. They are thrilled, it will be their first pay!!!
We want to raise funds to:
- Buy more wool
- Refurbish a working facility with power and light so they can weave together
- In this facility, we want to install two sewing machines, which we have, but there is no money to pay for the repairs
- In order to make this project sustainable in the long term, we want to create an association. That way, the women would be legally represented and could have access to touristic stores in Lima that could distribute their products.
The goal is to create a sustainable micro-company. Once the distribution of the products starts, the company will sustain itself.
They only need an outbreak because they are eager to make it work!!!

The page asks for the same bank details than you need when you buy something online (Number of your card, expiration date and security number or CVV). All donations will go to my bank account in Spain and I will make the transfer to Peru.
All donations will be invested in:
- Materials (Wool, zippers and fabric liner)
- Packaging
- Transport for the women to go to the materials store
- Refurbishment of a room. Installation of power and light.
- Reparation of two sewing machines
- Payment of the fees to establish an association
- Training for the women
