Hola a todos, ella es mi hermana Yeny Portillo de Nolasco de 44 años madre de 2 niñas y un varón de 14, 11 y 8 años les contare un poco de su historia Yeny de ascendencia Salvadoreña vive en Brentwood NY, desde antes de el año 2018 pasó mucho tiempo sintiéndose mal de salud, busco ayuda visitando a diferentes doctores cuales la enviaron a realizar diferente exámenes médicos ninguno encontraron nada en concreto daban diferentes diagnósticos, y sin ninguna solución a su malestar. Hasta que un día comenzó a sentir un dolor muy fuerte en su espalda al punto de que fue necesario ir a la sala de emergencias de un hospital cercano, ahí le hicieron exámenes más avanzados debido al dolor tan fuerte y los síntomas que ella presentaba en ese momento.
Actualmente Yeny espera por un donante de médula ósea, el cual será hecho en el (NIH) National Institute of Health, mientras tanto le pedimos a nuestros familiares y amigos que nos ayuden con lo que se les haga posible ya que cuando sea tiempo para el trasplante Yeny tendrá que viajar a Maryland, donde se encuentra dicho instituto donde se hará el trasplante. La batalla continua, Yeny continúa con su fe y su optimismo alto gracias a todos los que le han ayudado y le continúan aportando, cualquier donación es importante, y les pedimos que mantengan a Yeny, y su familia en sus oraciones.
Lamentablemente dando como resultado que lo que padecía era un Cáncer de Linfoma No Hodgkin nivel 4 (esta es la última etapa de este cáncer) un tipo de cáncer muy agresivo este diagnóstico fue hecho en marzo del 2018, Yeny comenzó a recibir quimioterapias al siguiente día de haber descubierto el cáncer recibió un total de 6 quimioterapias las cuales terminaron en Agosto del 2018. Realizaron nuevamente estudios necesarios dando como resultado que las quimioterapias gracias a Dios habían funcionado y el Cáncer había desaparecido, pero en Diciembre del mismo año 2018 Yeny comenzó nuevamente a sentirse mal busco ayuda con su oncóloga quien le expresó “Que no se preocupara que no pensara más en el cáncer que lo que sentía eran los efectos de las quimioterapias que había recibido” Yeny continuo sintiendo cada vez más mal e insistió tanto a su oncóloga hasta el punto de lograr que le realizara nuevamente el Pet Scan con el diagnóstico que el cáncer había regresado.
En Enero de este año, esta vez el Cáncer regresó más agresivo, a raíz de esto fue necesario administrar una sesión de quimioterapia de emergencia, parte de un total de 3 quimioterapias dándole la noticia que dicha quimioterapia se va a agotar que su única opción es realizar un trasplante de médula ósea el cual no es cubierto por el seguro médico de emergencia, ya que no es posible obtener un seguro médico que cubra el procedimiento, su doctora recomendó que regresara a su país a realizar el trasplante si desea seguir viviendo y ver crecer a sus hijos, pero en nuestro país El Salvador no realizan este procedimiento hasta aquí no tenía otra opción que esperar su muerte.
Gracias a Dios cuando parecía que todas las puertas se cerraban, su esposo con ayuda de amigos y familia comenzó buscar alguna organización sin fines de lucro que podrían ayudar a realizar el trasplante sin necesidad de un seguro médico, se envió el historial médico a diferentes organizaciones y gracias a Dios en Maryland Estados Unidos hay una organización que accedió a realizarle el trasplante. Yeny y su esposo tendrán que cubrir algunos gastos médicos, y con todos los gastos de transporte, y alojamientos durante el tiempo que sea necesario para el procedimiento; también durante el tiempo de recuperación ya que esta clase de operaciones requerir de mucho cuidado al terminar.
Desde que se descubrió que el Cáncer había regresado su esposo ha estado a su lado para cuidar de ella y sus hijos, por lo cual tuvo que dejar su trabajo para poder ayudarle en todo lo necesario en el hogar y en sus citas médicas y terapias necesarias, y estar presente para mantener a los niños de una forma optimista y que no se depriman al ver la situación en la cual se encuentra su madre, por esta razón hemos creado este fondo de recolección en GoFundMe, confiando en la voluntad de Dios y de todos ustedes que puedan ayudar a recaudar la suma de $50,000 dólares, con lo que sea su voluntad ninguna cantidad es pequeña para poder llegar a la meta, y así poder ayudar a Yeny y su familia para poder cubrir los gastos por venir y esté tranquila sabiendo que todo no está perdido. Lo que ella más desea es que Dios le permita recuperar su salud para poder estar al lado de su esposo he hijos y ver a sus hijos crecer.

When the pain occurred, we started seeking out different doctors who sent her for many medical exams and never found anything specific to explain the pain and offered different diagnoses without any explanation for Yeny’s discomfort. In March 2018, Yeny began to feel a very strong pain in her back to the point that it was necessary to go to the emergency room of her nearby hospital. There they did more advanced exams and diagnosed her with Level 4 (the last stage) Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a very aggressive type of cancer. Yeny began receiving chemotherapy the next day and she received a total of 6 chemotherapies which ended in August 2018. The hospital examined Yeny after the chemotherapies and thankfully they had worked and the cancer had disappeared. Unfortunately all was not over yet...
In December of 2018, Yeny began to feel pain again and we contacted her oncologist who told her that she didn’t need to worry and the pain was only the effects of the chemotherapies she had received. Yeny continued feeling worse and insisted that her oncologist perform examinations/the PET scan again. In January 2019, it was determined that the cancer had returned and this time even more aggressively. It was necessary to administer an emergency chemotherapy session, part of a total of 3 chemotherapies in 2019. The chemotherapy treatment as an option was then exhausted and the only option now is to perform a bone marrow transplant which Yeny would need to find a way to pay for. Because Yeny is unable to obtain medical insurance to cover the procedure, her doctor recommended that she return to El Salvador to perform the transplant if she wants to continue living and watch her children grow. The problem is that in El Salvador they do not perform this procedure...
At the last moment when it seemed that all doors were closing, Yeny’s husband with the help of friends and family found out about a Maryland-based non-profit health organization that could help carry out the bone marrow transplant without the need for health insurance. Yeny and her husband will have to cover some medical expenses, all transportation expenses, accommodations for as long as it is necessary for the procedures as well as funding for her recovery time since this kind of procedure will require a lot of after-care. Since the cancer returned, Yeny’s husband has been by her side to take care of her and their children. Yeny’s husband has had to leave his job for now in order to help Yeny at home, with her medical appointments, therapies, and to be with their children. For this reason we’ve created this collection fund in GoFundMe trusting in the will of God and your kindness to help raise the sum of $50,000. No donation is too small in reaching this goal. This money will help Yeny and her family to cover expenses to come and find some peace knowing that everything's not lost.
