Hi I am raising funding for my glass blowing. Right now I make marbles and pendants. But need a better kiln so they can be sold.                                                                                                 There are many web sights where you can see the latest glass being made by the new glass artists.Glassartists.org and www.isgb.org   www.glassart.org  www.cmog.org are all good.

One of my marbles has been published in the Flow a leading glass  magazine.

I got interested in working with a glass torch when my wife and i took a course about 15 years ago in Elkins West Virginia.
Now at 63 years old It would be better to not have to go up on roofs and work building houses and all the other ways I have been getting by.
Often torch artists get together to sell or show their skills but I have not been able to afford to go to the many shows or meet anyone who does glass torch work.Good thing we have computers now or I would never be able to learn very much of the latest techniques.

Glassblowing  has a long history some of the earliest glass objects are glass beads found in Africa going back thousands of years. There is no history of the earliest glass objects but

it is assumed it was an accidental discovery  after fires on beaches melted sand to make glass.
In Roman times glass object were so rare they were valued as highly as gold.
The techniques were then lost until the middle ages
exept island of Murano italy the art was protected from others techniques kept secret.

Recently in the last 30 years glass working with torches has become very popular this is the type of glass blowing I do.It started with a few individuals using torches some from the scientific glass comunity.Just down the road from me there is a retired scientific glass blower who was making objects in the 1960s.

Glassbowing is pretty expensive to start doing in the tradition way with furnaces and studio space. But using a torch can be much less to start but costs go up as you work with larger objects.I have been supporting the glass work by working every day to live and doing it at night now I wamt to do more glass so am raising funds to start. If this is successful  Iwould like to help other people in other countries do glass work too.
