My name is Amanda Wiesner-Groff. I am a mother of three boys, a military wife, an educator, and a runner. After living overseas for the past 11 years, my family and I back in America, as my husband finally gets to serve his country from home! I have run races all over Europe, so was excited when the time came to choose my first American race! I have chosen to run the Chicago Marathon; more importantly, I have chosen to run the marathon while raising funds for Chicago Hopes for Kids!
Chicago Hopes for Kids is a non-profit organization, providing educational support for children living in Chicago's homeless shelters. This wonderful organization relies on donations and grants in order to provide resources so students can succeed academically, despite the challenges of homelessness.
As a mother, and an educator, I cannot imagine a better organization to support and raise awareness for. My aim is to raise $1500.00 for Chicago Hopes for Kids by race day, October 9, 2016. Aside from running this race, I also hope to have my educational services and skills help the students who utilize the organization.
I appreciate every cent that you can donate, as the students will benefit greatly from your kindness and support. I urge you to look into the program, and see exactly what your generation provides!
