Averhoff Adoption Fund
We are thrilled to announce that, after many years of struggling to grow our family, we are expanding our family through adoption! Our son is so excited to be a big brother, and has asked for years when he will have a sibling. We believe that a child should have a sibling, and that every child deserves a family.
Over the next year or so we will be hosting fundraisers to help us through this process. The fundraisers include this website, a garage sale in May and an ongoing baby bottle change collection drive, as well as other events to be announced at a later date.
We are hoping to raise $25,000 with the help of family, friends and random strangers. Please consider supporting us with your prayers, donations, and by sharing this page with your social network. We would appreciate your help and support with our journey.
The money raised will go towards any adoption or child related expenses, which include the home study, match fees, placement fees, legal/court fees, birth mother fees and medical fees.
GoFundMe.com is a great website to link with social media to get the word out. It also allows family and friends an easy, hassle free, opportunity to donate. However they do take a portion of the donations (5%)... please also consider mailing a donation to us directly. All donations (online or offline) will be posted on this site. Please check back often to monitor our progress and learn updates about our adoption.
Thank you for walking this journey with us. Adoption is a long process that can take several years with many ups and downs along the way. We are excited to walk the path of adoption knowing that a child is waiting to join, and complete, our family.
We covet your prayers as we patiently wait for the placement of our newest family member.
Our sincerest thanks and blessings,
The Averhoff Family
With our profile that is. Over a year into our adoption journey we decided to take another step and post our adoption profile on our agency website. Birth mothers (or anyone really) can go onto the agency website to look at adoptive families. Not all of the families with the agency are on the website, only those who choose to be posted. Being posted online will give us more visibility to perspective birth mothers and possibly help us find our child.
Please take a look at our profile. If you know of anyone considering adoption either as a birth parent or adoptive family please let them know about our agency, Caring for Kids.
We are staying positive that 2015 will be our year! Wishing you all a wonderful and blessed 2015.
We cannot believe that it is 2015 already! Last year just flew by. So much happened last year that it only makes sense that it went by so quickly. In 2014 we officially became "waiting" for our adoptive child, Liam started Kindergarten and I graduated with my MBA. And Matt held down the fort, kept the family going and was super dad/husband through it all.
As for baby news we are still "waiting"... we are hoping that 2015 will be the year! Liam is still super excited about becoming a big brother and keeps asking for "his baby". Once in a while he brings up name ideas and his last suggestion was "Butch" if the baby is a boy. We told him we would put that on the list but I have a feeling that regardless if the baby is a boy or girl he will call them "Butch" as a nickname.
We will keep everyone up to date about our journey, and hope to be sharing joyful news with you all this year!
No other baby news at this time. We will keep you all posted on our progress. Happy November everyone!
This is incredible, amazing and beyond belief! When we began our fundraising journey almost a year ago we were honestly scared. SCARED! As if pursuing adoption wasn’t enough, we decided to also actively fundraise to help make our family dreams come true. We didn't know what would happen, what people would think of us (as if we should care but we do) and we didn't know if it would be worth the effort. Tonight we can answer the last question with a resounding YES!!! Each and every fundraising effort has been a TON of work, but each event has been incredibly successful and proves to us that through our hard work and devotion growing our family it is going to happen...someday.
We continue to be amazed with all the success we are having from all of the generous donations we have received. Generous hearts and hard work are making our family dreams a reality. We are so thankful for all of the love, support, DONATIONS and prayers we are receiving on our adoption journey. Thank you all so, so much!
