At only two months old our baby girl Avalyn was diagnosed with the liver disease Biliary Atresia. On March 30th, 2016 she had a procedure done called Kasai. They connected her small intestine to her liver. We won't know if it worked for maybe a couple more months. But if her liver is still not functioning, she will need a liver transplant. We want to thank you all for your support, love and prayers as we go through this crazy time in our lives!❤ We are starting this fund to pay for all her medical expenses such as lab work, ICU, doctors visits, any surgeries, and follow up care. She will need medications for the rest of her life and she needs a special formula that is for fat malabsorption. We will also be using some of the money for gas to get us to all her appointments since we are taking her to Loma Linda Children's Hospital. We want to thank everyone for helping us out. We don't have a set goal for the amount of money we raise. We just need a little bit of help starting this new journey to cure our little girl. Anything will help!

Avalyn has moved up on the transplant list with a score of 35. She is getting closer and closer to transplant! We had our fourth possible liver offer yesterday that unfortunately wasn't meant for her. We are trying to stay strong and be positive but it's starting to weigh on us. Our baby girl deserves to live a full and happy life without feeling pain and being tired more often then not. She deserves to have a childhood. That's all we want for her. Her time is coming soon and we are so thankful for all the donations we have received and all the well wishes. We couldn't do this without the help of all of you. Thank you.

Hello everyone! We just wanted to post an update. Ava's PELD score is now at 30. She is getting closer to transplant and we are hoping it is soon. She is starting to get fluid buildup in her belly and is needing blood transfusions. She is doing better now but we anticipate for her to only keep getting worse. We are just waiting for her call to get her a new chance at life! Thank you everyone who have donated and shared our story. We are so grateful.

We are still waiting for Avalyn to recieve a transplant. It's hard waiting. She has a lower PELD score of 12, so she has time to wait. She is currently taking 7 different medications. Some three times a day, and most of them twice a day. It gets very expensive. We had to move in with my parents because of our financial situation. We have many things that we have to pay for for her. And we were struggling. We are so grateful that we have family that could take us in.

It's the new year and we are now having to pay for many things out of pocket since we haven't met our deductible yet. It's just so stressful. On top of our stress about Ava and everything that is happening to her, we have to worry about money too. We are able to afford things a little bit better now but it's the transplant that I am worried about.

Her transplant will happen over at UCLA, which is about 2 hours away from us. We will be there for a month or possibly longer. There is a hotel nearby that they said it would be best for us to stay there and Drew and I can switch off on nights with Ava during recovery. That will be expensive too. After she is discharged we are supposed to stay close to the hospital as well. Then there is food for us during the hospital stay. Gas for Drew to go back and forth from work to the hospital since he can't take time off work. Then there is the cost of all her medication after being discharged. We have no idea what she will need to take, but we want to be ready for anything. We want to be financially ready and not have to have that added stress.

I want to thank every person who has helped us so far. We are so grateful for every donation. For every prayer. For every kind word. We couldn't do all of this without the help of all our family and friends.

Ava is such a goofy little girl. She makes us laugh so much and is just amazing. She has fought this disease since she was born and we are ready to find her a new and healthy liver. She is doing well. She's happy. She's learning new things. She's starting to talk! I can't wait to see how much more she will learn and what kind of girl she will become.

Thank you for following Avalyn's journey. Please keep sharing her story. Everyone should be aware of not only liver disease but organ donation too! Thank you for donating, and please keep her in your prayers!♻

Well we have an appointment to go to UCLA for Ava to get assessed. Based on her recent labs, it looks like she will be put on the transplant list as soon as possible. Her liver is just getting worse. We won't find out much more until she gets assessed so we will update you more then. As for now, please continue to pray for our baby. She's fighting so hard and we just pray she gets a new liver soon and we can move forward and get her gaining weight and overall just healthy. Please share our story and continue to help us prepare for the financial set backs that this has put us in. Thank you and we love you all!
