Uganda Mission 2017: A Time of New Vision
Community Impact and Education in Masese
Not by might nor power but by the Spirit of the Lord
Have you ever had the opportunity of a lifetime? That is what I have, but I need your help! I have an opportunity to help orphans and street kids in Masese, Uganda. I will use all that I have learned teaching here at Sunset Elementary in Craig, Colorado and begin a new entrepreneur program for young people. Please consider helping me financially and praying for me as I impact the next generation of Ugandan children.
I ran into a quote on Face Book from actor Hugh Laurie, it stated:
"It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.”
So, the time is now! In July I will be going to Masese, which is a small village in Uganda, and is home to many war refugee families from areas in Uganda and neighboring nations.

In Brene Brown's book, "Daring Greatly", she says, "Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage." Putting up this GoFundMe page is something that is very difficult for me; I am feeling extremely scared. I have been praying a great deal about how to get to Africa, God has been telling me to be vulnerable. So, here I am, being vulnerable, asking for your support to get me to Masese, Uganda to do the work God is urging me to do.
Your donation will be put towards my trip to help others.
My Impact in Masese
Some of my time in Masese will be spent volunteering in the school, which I am very excited for since I am a fifth grade teacher in Craig, CO. Many children and adults
are illiterate in Masese, with my teaching experience I can provide impactful reading instruction to students and teaching techniques to teachers. As a teacher, my passion has been positive impact in my student’s lives. In Masese, I hope to have that positive impact on the students at the H.E.L.P. School, where for many, "positive" probably isn't a word that would come close to describing their life.
The other portion of my mission in Masese will be helping with community impact. Masese is a poverty-stricken village, where every day is a struggle for families to make ends meet.
