Special Needs in Hurricane Harvey

According to the National Institute of Health, the third most common cause of premature death among autistic children is drowning. With devastating floods affecting South Texas, we’re trying to prevent the loss of life of innocent children. Join us by donating.

Most autistic children, teens and adults react negatively from sudden, unexpected change. What could be more devastating to them than the loss of their home, pets, and normal way of life? Tens of thousands of them are being seriously affected by Hurricane Harvey. Caregivers are out of resources and shelters provide no comfort or stability for the children or adults.

Help Autism Citizen provide resources to give those affected some degree of normalcy, comfort and security. Your tax deductible donation can provide aid and comfort to autistic children and adults.

We will provide assistance through local affiliated charities, replace computers and other special needs equipment, and even service pets to speed recovery from the devastation of this 500-year storm that has affected so many.  Many are in need of sensory-support bags containing stuffed animals, weighted blankets (excellent for calming), earplugs and noise-canceling headphones, notepads and crayons.
