33 The Series for Authentic Manhood has been approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and is on a short list of classes that are highly valued to prepare inmates being considered for parole. These classes, along with the implementation of Faith-Based Dorms, have helped Texas Prisons achieve the lowest recidivism rate in the country. Recidivism is the tendency of a convicted criminal to re-offend.
There are 87 male prison facilities in Texas. We have learned that 500 inmates on average at each facility would elect to go through 33 The Series. Our BIG GOAL is to support 20 facilities or about 10,000 inmates.
LET'S START WITH PHASE 1: Provide Training Guides for 2,000 inmates. At 6 volumes per inmate, we need funding to purchase 12,000 Training Guides. Authentic Manhood already provides PDFs of just the outline portion at no charge to prison ministries. The complete Training Guides provide encouraging articles, supplemental scriptures, lists of recommended resources, and space to journal strategic moves and build action plans. We have heard stories about families of inmates who provided them with the books and resources we recommend in the Training Guides, and who are working through the content together. Training Guides always elevate the experience.

SOCIETY IS SUFFERING FROM A MANHOOD CRISIS
Some men are confused about what it means to be a man, aiming at the wrong target. Others are just drifting, aiming at nothing, turning to escapes to numb their pain. Without a compelling vision for manhood, men settle for less and society suffers.
Confused men cause major problems. 90% of murders are committed by men. 88% of robberies are committed by men, and 75% of all people arrested are men. 1 in 3 women experience physical and/or sexual violence from men in their lifetime. Research concludes that gender is the single best predictor of criminal behavior.
You can feel the collateral damage in our families, our communities and around the world. If there is pollution downstream, we need to go upstream to fix what is causing it. 33 The Series has already reached about a million men around the world, but there are over 100 million men in the United States alone. Most of these men have never heard about God’s original design for manhood. We believe that this lack of understanding is a major contributing factor for much of the collateral damage in society today.
