Australian Women's Fistball team
We are the official Australian Women's Fistball team, The Possums, and we need your help!
Come October, 2016, The Possums will represent Australia with our first ever team at the International Women’s World Fistball Championships.
Of the 10 'fisting' their way to Pomerode, Brazil, our team will consist of 8 players, 1 Physio, 1 Coach/Team Manager. The tournament will run over 7 days with our girls competing against 16 countries to strive for Australia’s first ever Women’s Fistball title.
As you can imagine fulfilling the dream of representing our country in a World Championships is a costly endeavour. As Fistball is a sport within its infancy in Australia (certainly not internationally), we cannot apply for funding through the Australian Institute of sport (AIS). Therefore, we're appealing to all who can, and are willing to assist with donations or sponsorship to aid our expenses; such as uniforms, equipment, medical supplies and travel expenses.
The future of 'fisting' is bright, so much so that the International Fistball Association (IFA) are working towards making Fistball an Olympic sport, with sights set on an appearance in the 2020 games. This makes our involvement in the upcoming Women's World Champs even more important to get Australia recognised as a worthy competitor in Fistball.
Whatever you can do to support Australia on the international stage and get involved with helping The Possums fist our way to a World Championship title would be eternally appreciated.

Only 10 weeks until the World Champs in Brazil.
Our new found German leader has come in like a sledgehammer to whip our Australian team into shape and we are loving the results. With years of Fistball experience Coach Hellfist is a valuable asset, bringing tactical drills and training formations so her team is primed for the World Championships in October.
Welcome aboard Coach HellFist!
