As another Australian Team campaign draws closer I have finally got around to try my hand at raising some funds to support me in my quest to bring home gold.
The Dragon Boat 13th World Championships commence on 18th - 23rd October 2017 in Kumning, China and i will once again represent this magnificent country of ours for my 3rd consecutive year as part of the Australian Auroras Dragon Boat Racing Team.
I have worked hard to secure my position in the boat as have my team mates. Its a huge commitment with many sacrifices and we all have one goal in mind......GOLD
Unfortuanately this sport does not receive funding or government assistance and we have to pay for everything ourselves including flights, accommodation, transport, uniforms, paddle, boat hire, training camps and even the enterance fees to compete. Not a cheap exercise.
As I live in a regional zone I have more travel costs.
Having training camps in Sydney and Melbourne, fuel, flights,and accommodation dont come cheap and are additional expenses.
This is the only way i will be fund raising due to work & training commitments taking up all my time, so i will take this oppertunity to say thank you for reading my story and an enormous thank you if you are willing and able to donate.
