Austin Hayes Medical/Memorial Fund

On Dec 27th we lost a son, brother, cousin, grandson and friend, Austin Hayes, when his family's worst fear came to pass after years of unbelievable heartache and struggle from a pressing sadness, which ultimately lead to him to take his own life, shortly after his 20th birthday and just days after Christmas. As I fervently think of words that may hopefully touch the hearts of friends, family and even strangers, I'm devastated from the heavy blow of losing an empathetic, insightful, and ultimately fragile young man.

This family has already seen loss earlier in the Spring, and in addition has endured more than I can express here, even before the passing of Austin. With very limited medical coverage they're looking at the extreme cost of flight for life, life support, routine hospital fees, and on top of that the cost of a funeral. The total cost will most likely exceed the goal posted here. I can only desperately pray, hope and plead with all my heart that whoever you are, you'll be moved and feel prompted and inspired to help relieve the sudden, unavoidable and unexpected expenses that this family will now face. Loss of a young person is a hardship in and of itself, the stress of expenses carries an extra sting that I hope can be diminished through the kindness and generosity of people such as yourself.

Despite his struggles,  Austin had a deep compassion for others, and a rare sensitivity that allowed him to grasp their feelings.  Even after his passing he will have the honor of being an organ donor. Though our family is grieving, we hope others will be spared by his sacrifice. There are many pages asking for assistance. I wish you could know why this one is so important and why this one is so special; this family is my family and they are hurting greatly. Right now a family is trying to figure out how to continue on without one of its members, that task is hard enough alone. Please give whatever you are able to and support them, even if you never had the blessing to have known Austin, and even if all you can give is just a prayer for comfort and peace. If you are unable to make a donation, you can still help by passing this on to reach others who can.  We are exceedingly grateful for all your support.
