Auburn Police Don't Shave December

Donation protected
For the 2nd year, members of the Auburn Police Local 195 in cooperation with Chief Shawn Butler and Deputy Chief Roger Anthony will take part in the campaign known as “No Shave November”. This year however we would like to raise money for families within our own community that are in need. Participating members will pledge a minimum of $50 each in order to participate. All the money raised will be used to sponsor selected families in need in order for them to be able to celebrate Christmas with food for traditional dinner and gifts to open under a decorated tree. Giving back to our community is something that is important to our men and women who wear the badge and we are excited to participate in this event.

Male employees will be allowed to grow a beard which is normally a violation of department policy and female employees can either wear a blue police baseball hat or add some blue streaking to their hair in order to participate in the event with their male counterparts. The overall goal is to raise $2,000 for this great local cause.

At the conclusion of the event, those officers wishing to participate will enter a voting contest via our department Facebook page where we will ask the public to vote on which member grew the best beard. The winning member will have an additional $200.00 donated in their name on behalf of Local 195 and the Chiefs of Police.

We encourage the public to donate as well by going to our team page listed in the link below and donating in honor of your favorite officer!
