2016 Anti-Poverty Week Conference
Anti-Poverty Network SA, an alliance of low-income people, including sole parents, students, unemployed people, carers, Age and Disability Pensioners, and others, is hosting a two-day conference for Anti-Poverty Week: Attack Poverty, Not The Poor .

We want to inject something into Anti-Poverty Week that is often missing: the voices and struggles of low-income people themselves. We want a conference on poverty where those directly affected, those in the firing line of punishing government policies, can speak for themselves, and lead the way.
Not only this, but a conference with a strong focus on action, on campaigns and projects; and a conference with some deeper analysis, that connects the dots, and looks at the causes, as well as the symptoms...
But we have some significant expenses: we have interstate guests to bring to Adelaide, including activists from a homelessness union, unemployment activists from Melbourne, Income Management clients from the NT, and others. We also hope to provide childcare for both days of the conference, to help our group's sole parents attend, and to organise a mini-bus to help bring down people from the outer-suburbs of Adelaide to attend this special event.
Can you help us?
