Nepal Song (May All Beings be Free)

Namaste.

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

In April of 2015 , when the Nepal earthquake struck, Jim Beckwith and I were at the New York Yoga Journal conference. Like people all over the world, we were so moved by what happened that we just began to PRAY and chant. We wrote Nepal Song,  we were able to share the song live a few times, but not able to record.

In September 2016, chanting with friends in Denver we felt inspired to try to go and record the song in Nepal on an upcoming journey to India and Nepal.  So  in October of 2016, we travelled  to India and Nepal on a spirtual pilgriamge.  And began recording 'Nepal Song  (May All beings be Free)  as a benefit for the people of Nepal. First it did not seem possible that we would be able to record the song, but for the grace of some good friends many synchronicity's happened and we were able to visit Nepal along with Calia Marshall and Chase Nichter and record in the small recording studio in Kathmandu. There we met our new friends Chetan Raj Karki and his wife Anu Kadhka, who graciously hosted us.

Since then we are still working on the song, I have some more wonderful musicians who are adding their talents to the song including, Ben Leinbach, Ananda Yogiji, David Watts and others.

We were also able to shoot some beautiful video footage, both in India and Nepal. Including some of our time at a beautiful orphanage in North India full of both Indian and Nepali children. It was there we learned about a special cause, that we know we wanted to help with. Our dear friend problem who runs the orphanage Ramona's garden, told us about how many people in Nepal need a prosthetic limb. The majority of what we rasie with the song and any left over funds from this campaign   will go to supporting that cause. Depending on how much money we raise, we will also share with other groups that are helping to rebuild Nepal and support the people most in need. The Nepal earthquake, created tremendous devastation an.d suffering for so many people. And they are still dealing with the effects of this. There are many places all over the world that need help and if we can each do a little, there is enough. Thank you so much for your support.

2) Video project  for the Nepal Song

We shot some beautiful footage at an orphanage in India  and at sites in Nepal. At the orphanage, our hearts melted and we found out about a coasue that has become dear to our hearts. There are many people , many of them children who need prosthetic limbs. Prabha who owns the orpahnage 'Ramana's garden' told us this and we want to help in the organizng of this special camp with doctors that can help change peoples lives.

What we are hoping to rasie is $4,00.00   But we are grateful for any contributions to help this project.

Any funds left over will go Nepal relief.
