Atlantic Rowing Challenge 2020

Hi I'm Shane,
Thanks for visiting this page.
As some of you may know, I plan to row across the Atlantic ocean in April of 2020. This will be my biggest challenge yet. I will be joining a group of up to 5 other like-minded, crazy individuals.
We will leave from Lagos, Portugal, make our way down the Moroccan coast, and then head straight for French Guiana. We will certainly be faced with a mixture of rowing conditions and weather.
After all race entry fees are covered the remaining funds will go towards Vision Sports Ireland. This will allow them to continue their great support and services. They are the National Governing Body for sport and leisure activities for vision impaired people in Ireland.

I have chosen this charity as they have helped me personally in the past. Without their services I would not have been introduced to the sport of rowing many years ago. This ultimately lead to my partaking in the London Paralympic games in 2012.
Any donation, no matter how small, will be of great benefit and hugely appreciated. There are many others in the same position as myself who may not realise their potential in sport. Hopefully this campaign will bring awareness to the greater sporting community of Ireland and encourage the visually impaired to try their hand at sitting in a rowing boat, or taking to a tandem bicycle.
