Design for Old Atlanta Prison Farm
Donation protected
The Old Atlanta Prison Farm property is a beautiful green space jewel located just outside of Atlanta city limits, very close to East Atlanta in Southwest DeKalb County.
One of the two beautiful lakes on site
One of the gorgeous trails alongside the lake
This land has been neglected and abused, harboring a variety of problems like tire fires and illegal dumping.
One of two massive tire fires that occured on site Summer 2017
Dilapidated prison buildings on site
We formed Save The Old Atlanta Prison Farm (STOAPF) to bring attention to and resolve these issues.
STOAPF representing at the East Atlanta Strut
The Old Atlanta Prison Farm is over 300 acres of land, making it the largest greenspace inside the perimeter.
Bird's eye view of the land
We see that it is full of enormous potential for our community. In a spirit of hope and opportunity, we are envisioning a beautiful, multi-use, regional park that will be of benefit to everyone.
That's why we've taken it upon ourselves to hire a team of professional designers to help us manifest this vision. This design is instrumental to the very necessary step of facilitating support in local government. We believe it will help immensely to make this vision a reality!

The development of this plan is a major, important step toward resolving these issues, restoring this area to its natural state, and creating something wonderful for the whole community for generations to come.
With over 300 acres, we see a wide variety of both active and passive recreational opportunities:
1. Dog Park
2. Conventional Park
3. Nature Preserve
4. Sports Fields
5. Eco Park
6. Outdoor Music Venue
7. Community Gardens
8. Arts & Cultural Event Venue
9. Historical Site
10. Regional Network of Trails

And now, we need your help! We're asking the community to contribute to the cause by making a donation to help us pay for this wonderful park design.
We would be forever grateful to you for your support of this great cause.
Your contribution, however small, will make all the difference and would mean the world to us!
We hope you will help us create and initiate a better plan for this large, underappreciated parcel. Together we can leave a great legacy for our children and our children's children.
In gratitude,
