Grow Atheist Groups in PA!

Brian Fields, President of PA Nonbelievers and Scott Rhoades, President of the Lancaster Freethought Society have been working on a project to help organize groups in Pennsylvania.  These funds are to help get this project off the ground in a more tangible way than we've already been able to do.

Our vision is a group set up to help other secular groups start, grow and prosper.  We want to help facilitate secular, atheist and freethought groups in Pennsylvania, and we need your help to succeed!



First, with local group support, we helped found the Annual PA State Atheist/Humanist conference.  In 2015, the conference is on its 4rd year, and each year it gets better and better.  But we had another aspect to our plan as well.  Aside from conferences, which provide a profit center, we want to provide financial and logistical resources to individuals who want to start up new groups in Pennsylvania.  We will do this by forming a new 501(c)3, governed BY groups in Pennsylvania FOR groups in Pennsylvania.



This new organization will use the annual conference and potentially other events to help provide financial resources to the groups that contribute volunteers and a nominal membership fee to it.  It will also, on a grant basis, provide financial and other resources to new groups as they navigate the hurdles of finding members, incorporating, and applying for 501(c)3 status.

As we realize profit from the conference and other donation sources, we can then put that money to work supporting the atheist and secularist communities in Pennsylvania!   Profits from the conference (and possibly other events) will then be used to help new and struggling organizations to make sure that the community in Pennsylvania grows and stays strong.

Please help our community in any way that you can!  We need funds to get this organization started.  We need to be able to cover expenses like filing and lawyer fees, and perhaps have a little left over to give to the new organization to get it operating as quickly as possible.  All monies raised will be used to support this endeavor.
