Assistive Technology for College
Donation protected
Hi everyone! For those of you who may not know me, my name is Aubrie and I am from Hanson, MA. At the age of 9 months old I was diagnosed with Spinal Musuclar Atrophy Type 2. SMA is a neuromuscular disease where my muscles and stamina waste away over time. It is a progressive disease, meaning it only gets worse. But, I will not let this disease stop me from achieving my goals. In the fall, I will studying Bioinformatics at Wheaton College in Norton, Ma. Because of my physical limitations I am unable to write and tire very quickly. Since these are obstacles in achieving my goal of further education, I want to increase my independence through assistive technology. One of the main pieces of technology I am hoping to get is the Tobii Dynavox PC Eye Mini with Windows Control. The PC Eye Mini will track my eye movement to help me control a laptop independently and efficiently. I will also be using the money raised for other assistive technologies/apps I find that may be helpful at some point in my college career. I would absolutely grateful if you were to donate or share if you are unable to.
Thank you,
Aubrie
