Assistance with vision expenses

Most of you visiting this page know me as “Rho” or Brian Black.
Several weeks ago I encountered my first ever eye infection. It was diagnosed as a viral infection, and I incurred medical costs of approximately $600.
While I had money saved at the time in a vacation fund to pay for the doctor’s visits and medicine I needed, it appears the infection is making a return and will likely require additional visits and prescriptions.
I don’t have medical insurance. For most of my life it’s been difficult to justify the costs of insurance as a lower class worker.
Disclosure on my income and expenses:
My day job is an assistant manager position with a convenience store and my weekly take home is roughly $350/week.
Roughly $200 of that goes to bills, $60 towards work transportation, and $60 for food and incidentals, with $30 per week having been placed aside to pay for vacation or leisure expenses. Obviously that latter $30 of late has been diverted toward my medical needs instead.
In regards to vacation: previous vacation funds prior to this eye infection were spent to cover room and transportation in November. I’m mentioning that here so that people understand I’m not asking for vacation funds. That trip is already paid for.
Costs:
Each eye doctor visit costs $80.
The medications I expect I’ll be placed on total about $300 for two weeks worth of medication. This already takes into account discounts I’ll be able to obtain online to help on costs.
Assuming five doctors visits and four weeks of medication, that comes out to my goal of $1,000.
It has taken a bit of pride swallowing to ask for this help, and to be honest I’m keeping my expectations very low. I really would rather not go this route, but I was also reminded not long ago that one shouldn’t be ashamed or embarrassed to admit a need for help.
Any support is appreciated beyond words, even if that support is simply spreading the word.
