Assembling Alisha's Angel Army

Hi, I'm Renee' and I have set up this go fund me page for my sister, Alisha Collins. On Tuesday, May 2, 2017 Alisha had a procedure done a partial hysterectomy. She came home Wednesday and was resting. On Thursday her pain level was quite high and after speaking with the Doctor he allowed her to take the pain meds every 3 hours instead of 4. By 3am on Friday her pain was still very high and she requested that an ambulance be called. And with in 5 minutes from asking for an ambulance her pain level went from a 6 to a 12 and she was rushed to the hospital. The medical staff we're able to determine that her colon had ruptured and bowel was now in her system. She had emergency surgery to remove the bowel from her body. Thankgoodness my brother in law called for an ambulance when he did because her colon had already started to turn blue and purple due to lack of oxygen. They repaired her colon and stated the next 48 hours were going to be rough. The infection in her body went to all her organs, her kidneys shut down and she was placed on kidney dialysis. She was placed on a ventilator and she was put into a medically induced coma. After a few days of being on kidney dialysis the Doctor's were able to remove it and her kidneys have been doing ok. She is still on the ventilator and they are trying to get her to breath on her own. We hope that she will be taken off the ventilator soon. If she cannot be taken off the ventilator a trach will be done. She will be getting the trach tomorrow. It appears her lungs were heavily damaged and it will take some time for her lungs to get back to normal. She has been taken off the meds to keep her in a medically induced coma and her pain drip has stopped and they now have her on a pain patch. She is on a high anxiety medication to keep her comfortable. She is still not awake but we hope that will change soon.

I have been fighting within myself if I should set up a go fund me page account for her. I've really thought long and hard about it and I love my sister with all my heart and I know the first thing she is going to think about is "how are we going to get by and pay bills with my income not coming in?". I do not want my sister to worry about how they are going to pay bills I want her to be able to focus 100% on her getting better and her recovery. The money raised will be used for medical bills and bills. As I tell people I've been in this relationship for 44 years and I want more years together (yes, my humor had to come out).

We have been told she will be in the hospital for a few months and it could be over a year for her body to heal from this. In a few weeks her pay will stop from her job and the bills will still need to be paid. My brother in law has not left the hospital since my sister arrived and I know he has a lot on his mind and I do not want him to worry about anything but being there for my sister right now. I told him that no matter what I was going to set up this go fund me page because sometimes you need to let someone help you out and you should not step on their blessing.
