Aspire To Empower's youth projects

Donation protected
Aspire To Empower is a not for profit organisation aimed at supporting and assisting young people aged 13-21 experiencing many of the common socio-economic issues such as mental health; low self-esteem; unhealthy relationships; serious youth violence/gang involvement; exploitation and more.

Aspire To Empower is not funded and relies heavily on the support from donations and sponsors. We will be delivering several projects within the summer to combat some of the issues highlighted above. From the support of community donations and fund raisers, in the past, we have delievered a number of projects to tackle these issues. We need your help to enable us to continue our vital work within the community. Please see below images and videos from previous projects.

As seen above, the Empowerment day is an event aimed at uniting, educating, and providing young people with opportunities. The next Empowerment day will be held within the borough of Waltham Forest in London. There will be a number of opportunities available to the young people from the borough. This will keep the young people off the streets by providing them with the opportunity to sign up to activities, in order to be actively engaged  througout the summer holidays. A number of creactive workshops will be available on the day followed by an evening of empowerment through performances and life changing stories.
Aspire To Empower also provides the option of further community mentoring, for those young people who may need it, following the event.

Empowerment Show (I Am Uneek), is a showcase put on by young people for young people. This is an evening of performing arts, spoken word, and empowering testimonials. Aspire To Empower actively seeks to incoorporate schools performing arts department to create pieces which reflect youth struggles. This is to raise further awareness of the difficulties young people face and to empower them to overcome.

I Am...Project, is a series of workshops aimed at young females tackling issues such as unhealthy relationships, self-esteem, leadership, identity, physical and emotional wellbeing. This project will work with upto 15 young females for 7 consecutive weeks. At the end of the project the young females would have left with a sense of purpose and clearer understanding of who they are.

Funds will be used for the following:

- Entertainment (DJ and host)
- Hot food
- Volunteer refreshments
- Event space (extra time)
- Photographer and videographer
- Volunteer expenses
- Gift bags
- Resources

In order to deliver these projects in the summer period we will need to have raised the full amount by the 2nd July 2017.

Please note that all staff will be volunteering their time on project days. Empowerment day requires at least 20-30 volunteers.

Supporting our projects will enable us to aspire to empower our young people and raise leaders so that they too will aspire to empower their peers and community.
