BACKGROUND
Sheena McFeely, momma-creator, knows what it was like growing up being the only Deaf person in her family. After giving birth to two girls, one Deaf and one hearing, she felt something was missing from the internet. A place where everyone is welcome to learn ASL. Before our eyes, ASL Nook was created.
Fast forward to FIVE years and FIFTY episodes later, hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed watching ASL Nook at no cost. ASL Nook is ready to soar to new heights.
In order to achieve our big dream, we need your support in raising money for:
1) Producing More ASL Nook Episodes
With so many Deaf children with their families and friends, watching and growing with ASL Nook… your donations will keep ASL Nook running for another year at no cost. We will create exciting episodes in different places and showcase more Deaf role models! Something our Deaf children are hungry for.
2) Produce & Distribute ASL Nook DVDs at Zero Cost
Some Deaf children live in homes with no internet access. Many schools, mentors, and organizations have begged for DVDs so those Deaf children can enjoy ASL Nook anytime, too. With your support, we can produce and distribute ASL Nook DVDs to those schools, mentors, and organizations at no cost.
3) Surprises
We will reveal our first surprise when we hit $20,000 ;)
