20th Anniversary-United in Voice

For over 19 years Cantaria, The Gay Men’s Chorus of Asheville, has been sharing its voice with Asheville and the greater Western North Carolina. Starting with just a few gay men the chorus is growing and our voices are reaching an increasing diverse audience.
We have served as a voice for the LGBTQ community for almost 20 years singing for various Pride Celebrations, GALA chorus conferences, World AIDS Day, Orlando PULSE Memorials, Regional Democratic Women’s Breakfast and more. From churches to retirement homes we have shared our United Voice.

In times such as these when the civil rights of LGBTQ people are being called into question once again, it’s important for us to continue to be a leader in the community and let our voices be heard! We continue to adapt our vision for changing times while keeping close to our original vision- excellence in musicianship, fellowship and service to the community.

We invite you, on our 20th anniversary, ‘United in Voice’ to join us in honoring the history and supporting the future of this vital organization, to be part of something bigger than one time and one place.

Cantaria is excited about commissioning and performing this work, which will honor two decades of gay vocalists being out and proud in North Carolina.
