Aryia Warrior Princess

The Deparini/Ramos family is starting this Go Fund Me account to help support our beautiful Aryia Warrior Princess. A smart, vibrant 3-year-old little girl with a kind heart and huge imagination. Whether it be fighting crime as a superhero, playing princess, or digging up dinosaur bones. She is always ready for life's next adventure.

A few months ago, in early July, our little Aryia began complaining of stomach pains, something we all thought to be your average tummy aches.  After multiple ER visits and appointments with her pediatrician, Aryia’s parents were repeatedly being told everything was fine, blood work is normal. Doctors were sure it had to be a GI Issue. As they waited for their referral to see a Gastroenterologist Aryia’s pain only seemed to get worse. Aryia’s parents knew something wasn’t right.

On September 12, 2018 Aryia’s parents made the decision to go to Sierra Vista Hospitalthe in the neighboring town of San Luis Obispo to get a second opinion. After being told again that Aryia’s blood work came back normal and nothing seemed to be wrong Aryia’s parents specifically requested that an ultrasound be done, for at least their peace of mind. Although reluctant the doctors agreed to do the ultrasound. About an hour later they returned to say the results of the ultrasound revealed a large mass on Aryia’s liver and a CT scan was needed for further information. The CT scan came back revealing a 13cm tumor attached to her Adrenal Gland. The doctors were sure this was text book Neuroblastoma but needed to get Aryia to the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA) as soon as possible for further testing and proper diagnosis. Within a couple of hours Aryia and her mother were in an ambulance on the way to CHLA.

Over the course of the next week Aryia underwent a number of CT and MIBG scans, blood work, bone marrow aspirations and a tumor biopsy. On September 20, 2018, Aryia was given her official diagnosis of High-Risk Stage 3 Neuroblastoma.
Aryia immediately started the fight for her life.  Her team of doctors at CHLA devised an 18-month intense, invasive and painful plan consisting of regular tests/scans, multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, stem cell harvests, surgery, and immunotherapy. Ultimately hoping to shrink the tumor to an operable stage, remove the tumor, and begin to rebuild her immune system.

The moment of Aryia’s diagnosis we felt as if our hearts had been ripped out of our chests. There are many events in life that do not make sense to us and take an immense amount of perseverance, strength and patience to allow life to unfold with hopes of helping us wrap our minds around the things we cannot control.

We are collecting donations in any amount to help offset the never-ending medical bills, co pays, special medications costs, travel, and lodging. As well as allowing her parents to be with their daughter as much as possible and not have to carry the weight of the financial strain alone.

We appreciate you taking the time out of your life to read Aryia’s story.  If you cannot donate please, share this post. The further it may reach, the further it may help. Thank you all so very much for the support and continued prayers. It means the world to our family and that cannot be expressed enough.
