Arts for the Ages

Arts for the Ages (AFTA) is an upcoming organization at Montclair State University that aims to connect different generations through the collective love of the arts. AFTA serves as a bidirectional learning environment, social gathering, and creative outlet for Students and Senior Citizens alike. 

AFTA has proudly partnered with The Montclair Inn, an affordable and independent senior living home in Montclair, New Jersey. AFTA's 20 members (and growing!) will be making visits to the Inn every other week to host events for the Residents. Each visit, AFTA members and Residents will participate together in different activities ranging from painting, book discussions, musical performances, technology help, meditation, arts & crafts, game nights, etc.! The conversational and artistic based activities provide the benefits of Art and Music Therapy to both the young and older generations. The events are planned, supplied, and funded by AFTA- and there is where your help comes in!

AFTA is currently in the charterment application process with the MSU SGA. If we are approved, we will not receive funding until next semester (Spring 2020). In order to successfully host and supply the events, AFTA is looking for donations!

All proceeds will go towards event supplies, transportation costs, meals, and donations to the Inn.

Your support will allow Montclair Students and Seniors to bridge the gap and connect the generations- nurturing authentic and meaningful relationships. Your support means a great deal to the well-deserving Residents of the Montclair Inn, the excited AFTA members, and our community.
