The Artist In You - Student Art

WHAT IT IS:
Ferndale, MI (March 1, 2017) The Artist In You is a community-wide celebration of student art, featuring works by young talents in the Ferndale School District, University High, and Center for Advance Studies and the Arts (CASA). Students will compete to have their winning pieces converted into public art.
A public reception with live music will take place Tuesday, April 25 from 6-9pm at the Ferndale Public Library to celebrate the young talent and art in the community. One student artist is eligible to have their artwork enlarged, reproduced, mounted, and displayed on one prominent business in the Ferndale Area.
The three top scoring 2D artists will receive Achievement Awards; $200, $100, and $50, respectively. Student artwork will be showcased at the Library.
The Artist In You is a collaboration between the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce, Ferndale Public Schools, University High School (DECA) with support from the Ferndale Area District Library
The Artist in You program expands into its third (3) year, to include a six week student art exhibition at the Ferndale Area District Library. Participating students will also receive a presentation with Emily Pitchford-Boeuf on the business side of the art world at the High School.
WHY
This project provides high school students with a unique opportunity to exhibit, market, and gain exposure for their creative work at a formative age.
The Artist In You contributes to the vibrant creative landscape of Ferndale, MI, with these big, bright reproductions of student art.
WHAT IS NEEDED
$3,000 is needed for artwork installation fees, and Achievement Awards. By supporting this project, you are supporting student art in the community, as well as furthering art education.
All contributions matter! Your 'gofundme' donations will be used towards The Artist In You student exhibition at the Ferndale Area District Library, as well as the future The Artist In You Achievement Award program.
THE IMPACT
Your contribution goes towards funding the celebration of student art, public art in the community of Ferndale, and the education of young artists.
