Please Donate to Help With Vet Bills For Sick Senior Homeless Cat "Arthur Wheaton Whiskers" aka Tom Tom
I was driving down the street and spotted this tiny cat on the sidewalk in front of a house. I stopped and was talking to the cat from my car with the windows rolled up and this cat was meowing at me. I pulled over and he came walking to me meowing and rubbing up against me. I bent down to pet him and discovered that he was super skinny with literally no fat on his body.
I walked up to the door of the house he was sitting in front of and found his food and water. I rang the doorbell and the ladies that answered told me that the cat belonged to their mother that just passed away. They told me that they are are not cat people and that the cat is 17 years old. The cat has had zero veterinary care. I pointed out that he was skinny and likely sick as often times older cats develop thyroid, diabetes, or kidney issues. They suggested I take the cat as they do not want him.
He had no shelter from the elements. In human years, he is 84 years old, needs medical care and is living outside.
After posting the above information across the internet, I was able to find a wonderful family to adopt Arthur that just lost their 20 year old cat. His new family named him "Arthur Wheaton Whiskers".
We picked him up tonight and he is in his new home. Now we need help with Veterinary Care for Arthur as he is severely malnourished and needs an exam, full blood panel, urine test, combo test for FELV/FIV, the works to find out what is going on with him.
I suspect there will be other tests needed and treatment so I set this GoFundme for $2,000. I will have a better idea of the costs after we see the vet and will adjust the amount as applicable.
