Arthur's Expenses & Travel Fund

This is a fundraiser for my brother, Arthur Baker, who was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 esophageal cancer a little over a month ago. As of now, his oncologists have predicted that he has 11 to 17 more months to live but only with the use of chemotherapy to slow the tumor growth. His adenocarcinoma is an oddity even to his primary oncologist. Surgery and radiation are not viable options to save his life.

Due to the sudden nature of all of this, Arthur, despite having employer provided insurance, has had to find money to pay his deductible and coinsurance as well as a variety of co-pays. He has also had to recently leave his job due to the severity of his chemotherapy sessions. As such, we are starting this fundraiser to meet Arthur's financial needs and hope fully provide him with some money to have a more enjoyable life with the time he has remaining.

Arthur needs donations to cover:

1. His insurance deductible
2. His coinsurance fees / second deductible
3. The bill for his singular credit card which takes money away from other expenses each pay period
4. Other medical and living expenses as they arise and in relation to the cancer diagnosis

and

5. Some money to enjoy life a bit while he still has time left. This may involve the writing and recording of an album of songs and/or some travel during the 11 or so days he actually feels up to it during his 21 day chemotherapy cycle.

Any money one can give is much appreciated, as is any likes and shares one can provide. We have set our goal at $15,000. Let's see if we can beat that goal. Any additional money will be utilized by Arthur any way he sees fit. Imagine how many things you want to do in your life. Arthur's time to do those things is limited. Please be as generous as you can be. (And remember this is Alvin talking, not Arthur.)

If the goal is met or exceeded, Arthur will release unreleased music that was the only music he made that survived from the era before Katrina on Soundcloud for free download and listening. This music means a lot to him and he considers them his "unfinished and unpolished babies."
