Art Through Early Instruments

My name is Max and I am and active performer, composer and educator. As a performer and composer I focus on contemporary music and avant-garde music. As an educator I teach courses in music theory, composition, electronic music, experimental music, production and acoustics. I am a firm believe that teachers are also students and the best teachers learn from students and hands on experiences in field. I am always looking to learn about aspects of music old and new and like to bring hands on experiences to my students.

I am currently trying to gain funds for a Hurdy Gurdy. I am looking to get a Hurdy Gurdy to learn nd use in various aspects of teaching. It is a unique instrument that is hard to compose contemporary music for and record well in studio settings. I think that being able to bring a unique instrument to various courses will educate students in varous aspects of the instrument and cause them to think outside the box. As part of this project I am looking to perform at various musicall conferences as another way to educate people about this unique instrument.  Durning this adventure I plan on recording my steps in learning. I also plan on making videos in the future on the basics of the instrument and how to compose contemporary music for it and properly record it.

I believe that learning old instruments and using them in new ways further advances art and music.  I intended to perform live and try to bring new culture to the area that I live in.  Through the use of online resources, I hope that  I can share my learning experience and influence young generations to take an interest in various music forms, instruments and art.
