Expressive Arts Internship Program at Easter Seals El Mirador mission statement:
To facilitate art & music making in therapeutic groups with participants with develpomental disabilites. Expressive art therapies can improve social skills, build fine motor skills, enhance self-esteem, and foster cognitive development in a therapeutic environment. By using art & music therapuetically graduate students create curriculum and engage participants in weekly sessions. Participants express a sense of connectedness within group sessions. We create opportunities for individual expression through the integration of expressive art modalities.
