Arnish moved all the way from India at the age of 12 to the city of Thompson, Manitoba. While there he quickly excelled in his favourite sport badminton, rising to the top of Manitoba's junior badminton scene. A year later he moved to Winnipeg where he began to see even better results. His first major breakthrough came in 2015 where he reached the semi-finals of the Canadian Junior Nationals on home soil. 2016 was a difficult year as it was his first playing in the Under 19 category. However, Arnish took the challenge head on and began to see good results yet again. He was runner-up at the 2016 Prairie Junior Elite national tournament and winner at the Alberta Junior elite national tournament in U19 boys singles. Arnish reached the quarterfinals of all three events at the Moncton Junior National Championships in 2017 and as a result, successfully qualified for the 2017 Pan American Championships in the U19 Boys singles event. He was chosen to represent Canada on the largest stage besides World Championships or Olympics and is especially proud to do so, as he became a Canadian citizen this year.
The 2017 Pan Am Championships registration cost is $1500 CAD simply to compete. Flight, meal accomodations and gear are other additional costs attached to the PanAm championships. Furthermore, as a national team member, he was also given the opportunity to attend a national level camp in Toronto, Ontario prior to the championships.
Manitoba also recently saw a massive cut in the athlete assistance program making it extremely unlikely for Arnish to receive any significant funding from Sport Manitoba.
Any donations would greatly help realize Arnish's dream of representing Canada on an international stage.
