Hello! Thank you for your interest in Arkipelago Books, A Filipino Specialty Bookstore in the SOMA PILIPINAS District of San Francisco. For over 20 years, Arkipelago has bridged the varied communities of academics, artists, social justice advocates, cultural enthusiasts, and youth all over the country and abroad with Filipino and Filipino American titles highlighting our history, stories, art and diaspora.
Arkipelago Books is honored by your patronage and support all these years and we hope to continue serving with new inventory, upgraded equipment, expanded website services and new publishing mediums. With your support we hope to meet the varied demands of libraries, classrooms, language learners, and poets alike -- as well as create a comprehensive tool in our website that connects information and people to titles culled from near and far, to local and touring authors, and cultural events with art of all genres including culinary, martial arts, theatre and sciences including social, historical and lingual.
A book community is composed of several worlds, from the author to the reader and the communities of each, to the world of the words and what it speaks to. It is our hope to care for the importance of platforms and circles of learning, healing, and story for the people of our community and of the world.
