My friend of 22 years, Arin (Donelson) Misner, has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder called Susac's Syndrome. There are only approximately 300 documented cases of Susac's Syndrome in the world.
Susac's is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the blood vessels of the brain, eyes, and inner ears. Immunosuppressive treatment is required while the disease is active. Learn more here.
Arin is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic by the world's leading expert in the disease but that kind of care comes with a cost. Medical bills and daily expenses are rising expontentially. We all want the best for our dear friend and her family.
